Windows 11 Media Player vs MPC-BE vs MPC-HC vs Potplayer vs
WEBOct 22, 2022 · Windows 11 Media Player is also unable to use discrete GPU regardless of the settings in Nvidia control panel and Windows 11 graphics settings for apps. Not sure why but MPC-HC, MPC-BE and Potplayer use both discrete GPU and integrated GPU when playing the video. Only Smplayer is able to play using only discrete GPU.

WEBOct 19, 2021 · Good morning everyone. I started using Media Player Classic, and after that, Home Cinema, since their first edition. After 2017, I switched to Media Player Classic Home Cinema Black Edition, with the best settings I found on the internet. I would like to know if there is another, and more updated, software that offer a superior quality. Thanks

WEBMar 6, 2023 · I don’t like the latest Media Player for win 11 because it’s much too easy to accidentally tap on the progress bar when you were trying to pause, and it isn’t convenient to only have a single icon pause and continue button. The VLC controls don’t stay up long enough but that may be configurable.

WEBMar 23, 2024 · VLC can cover the player part but you will still be lacking codecs, because there are several types, so tldr, install Klite Mega Codec Pack that will also include the Media Player Classic that is an awesome player and highly flexible on customization. I like MPC-BE (Media Player Classic - Black Edition), free from the Windows store.

Video player that plays HDR in Windowed mode the same way
WEBMay 12, 2022 · Even Windows media player cant render 10 bit VP9. My settings now: MPC-HC 2, MPC VR, LAV filters. However the AV1 performance is not good comparing to youtube or windows media player playback. I can play youtube/wmp 4k hdr 60fps but MPC can only play 30fps.
