WEBThe Association of American Railroads (AAR) maintains clearance diagrams governing the interchange of freight cars among railroads. There are five such diagrams -- AAR Plates B, C, E, F, and H. Plate B is the oldest and least generous of the five, and there are no restrictions on the movement of cars meeting its requirements.
