A rusty short bridge from one part of the city to the other. To walk there from a cruise ship turn left out of the terminal and walk a couple blocks. It will be on your left. Nice view for a picture …Full review by Joyce R

A means to cross the creek and need of major repairs or replacement. Allows one to get a picture of the harbour or cruise ship docked out from shore.Full review by 154darrelb

The hub and centre of activity in the city, it’s surprising that this rusty bridge holds up under the constant traffic and people passing over! It’s a good spot for admiring the boats and there’s ple…Full review by stevebintley

There's not an awful lot to see in this part of the city / country, to be honest. By the bridge there's lots of boats on the river, and a couple of restaurants with views over the water, but otherwise it's just full of locals milling about. Walking to Baron Bliss lighthouse and the Belize sign is only a few minutes, and worth doing if you're already planning on being in the area, but otherwise I'd say not much else in the area!
Is there a safe way to see the bridge? Does anybody recommend a reputable to her that company that could get us here and talk a little bit about the history of the bridge?

How are you coming to Belize? If on a cruise, the bridge is a safe walk from the Passenger terminal on Front Street. Walk toward town, and turn left at the traffic 'roundabout'. The bridge is right in front of you. You can cross and re-cross at your leisure. I have never seen it operate, but it does 3 or 4 times per year. It is the only hand operated swing bridge. If you have arrived another way, get to the center of the old part of Belize City. The bridge is the last crossing of the Haulover Channel before the sea. Do not take a heavy vehicle however. Vehicles over 5000 lb are banned.
