I agree with the other answers. The tour guides are compensated only by the tips they receive, and are almost always worth a generous tip. In my experience, these kinds of tours are more informative (and certainly more fun) than more formal walking tours.

Not super difficult, but there is definitely some elevation in that part of the city. The pace of tour makes it quite doable for people of many ages and physical fitness levels. Plus, it’s free and you could choose to not continue at any time if you felt unable to do so. Happy walking!
