Housed in the county’s old jail building, the Pickens County Museum of Art & History is committed to preserving the rich artistic and historical heritage of Pickens County so that it may be enjoyed by future generations. Featuring a unique blend of both local art and history exhibits, visitors can explore the rich culture of Pickens County while visiting the museum. Throughout our permanent history displays you can see such unique artifacts as Andrew Pickens’ dueling pistols, a model of Fort Prince George, Hitler’s radio, and a 19th century doctor’s field kit among others. The Pickens County Museum is host to at least two annual art shows each year with rotating art exhibits from local artists in the months in between.
