It still wasn't enough for the Cavs, though, as their season came to an end on Tuesday following their 114-105 loss to the Indiana Pacers. An understandably dejected Mitchell spoke to reporters after the game, and the 28-year-old combo guard shared his heartbreaking reaction to the season-ending loss.

Donovan Mitchell thought this Cleveland Cavaliers team would be the one to get him to a conference final for the first time. Instead, this trip ended with the same heartbreak as his other three to this point in the playoffs.

"They all touched the ball," Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters after practice Thursday. "They all got some reps up. But we didn't do anything live. They kind of participated in the walkthrough. Hoping for the best."

Not only did Cleveland get obliterated by the Pacers en route to Indiana taking a 3-1 series lead, but Donovan Mitchell also left the game at halftime with an injury and did not return.
