Jayson Tatum appears to be in good spirits after undergoing surgery on his Achilles, giving fans a thumbs up in his first social media post since Monday's devastating injury. Tatum underwent surgery Tuesday in New York after he suffered a ruptured Achilles late in Boston's Game 4 loss to the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.

Tatum averaged 28.1 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.8 blocks in the 2025 playoffs versus the Orlando Magic and Knicks. The Celtics beat the Magic in the first round of this year's playoffs in five games.

Fans and pundits saw this year's playoffs as Tatum's chance to show everyone he is the league's top dog.
