Officials in California and Oregon are already seeing coho and chinook salmon returning to the now free-flowing upper Klamath River.

The California Department of Fish & Wildlife says that the returning Coho salmon are being kept at the Fall Creek Hatchery pending genetic testing at the NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science

After being absent for more than a century, salmon have been spotted in Oregon's Klamath River Basin, following a mammoth dam removal project in California.
