The WNBA draft lottery unveiled that the Dallas Wings will get the first pick of the 2025 draft. The Wings will likely use their coveted pick to snag UConn guard Paige Bueckers.

The Dallas Wings have won the 2025 WNBA draft lottery, meaning they will pick first overall in April’s event. Dallas came into the lottery with favorable odds of landing the top pick. The Wings had a 22.7% chance at winning the lottery, trailing only the Los Angeles Sparks (44.2%).

Talent-wise, UConn Huskies guard Paige Bueckers should be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. She could follow Caitlin Clark, last year's No. 1 selection to the Indiana Fever, as a pro-ready guard who could immediately help a WNBA franchise.

The Dallas Wings will be glad that Bueckers does still play — and plays well — as the Wings won the 2025 WNBA Draft lottery Sunday, allowing them to select Bueckers with the top pick in April. Hope has sprung in Dallas, but it might not take until May for Bueckers’ impact to be felt.

“It's a lot of pressure because you don't want to get it wrong," said Luis Yebra, another Dallas Wings fan. "There's been a lot of stipulation coming into number-one picks only because the hype is big, doesn't mean it's a good player."

The Los Angeles Sparks, who had the top chance at 44 percent to get the top choice, will pick second, followed by Chicago and Washington.
