For many Delawareans who celebrate Thanksgiving, sitting down to a home-cooked meal surrounded by family and friends is a staple holiday tradition. Many enjoy traditional dishes such as mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and turkey – the most recognizable of the season.

On Wednesday, the busiest travel day of the year thanks to Thursday's Thanksgiving holiday, the average price of gas in Delaware was under $3 per gallon − or $2.99 to be exact. New Castle County had the cheapest, with an average of $2.97. Kent had the highest, with a $3.02 average. And Sussex came in between the two, with an average of $3 exactly.
