Gmail users have been warned by U.S. law enforcement of an ongoing attack targeting them with claims of a search history spyware hack.

Imagine getting an email that contains your name, a picture of the front of your house and the words, “I’m watching your dirty behavior.” Maryland State Police are warning people about a blackmail scam.

The new scam is threatening to publicly release victims' internet browsing history in exchange for large sums of money.

A blackmail email scam relies on public information, using a person's name, address and even a street view image of where they live.
