Newark Mayor Ras Baraka's federal trespassing charge has been dismissed, but Rep. LaMonica McIver is now facing charges.

Congressional Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) was also charged with assault Monday night following a visit to a newly opened immigration detention center in Newark.

U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey and former Donald Trump defense attorney Alina Habba declined to charge Newark Mayor Ras Baraka with trespassing after he was arrested outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility earlier this month.
