According to reports, the Pakistani spy had established contact with Gohil via Facebook. The agent, who operated under the alias "Sahima," kept in touch with him through the instant messenger WhatsApp. The agent sought specific details, including the names and numbers of Indian Coast Guard ships stationed at the Okha port where Gohil was employed.

The ATS had been keeping a tab on Gohel after receiving a tip-off that he was allegedly in touch with an agent of Pakistan intelligence agency, ISI, and was passing on sensitive information through WhatsApp.

The accused, Dipesh, reportedly used to receive Rs 200 per day for sharing intelligence about the movement of Coast Guard ships with the Pakistani agent.
