An Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was killed in an anti-terror operation in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter, which began Sunday morning, involved three to four terrorists believed responsible for the recent deaths of two village Defence Guards.

The gunfight broke out at around 9:00 am in the forest area connecting Dachigam and upper reaches of Nishat area.

Security forces killed a terrorist in an encounter in Sopore, Baramulla district. The operation was launched based on intelligence about the terrorist's presence.

Three personnel including an Indian Army officer were injured on Sunday (10 November) during a gunfight with terrorists in a remote forest area in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), officials reported.

In another development, Jammu and Kashmir police along with 22RR and 92 BN of the Central Reserve Police Force apprehended one terrorist associate identified as Ashiq Hussain Wani who is a resident of Tujar Shareef in J-K's Sopore.
