A majority of Manchester United fans favour building a new stadium rather than re-developing Old Trafford, according to a survey released on Tuesday. United released artist's images in September of a potential Old Trafford regeneration project and have indicated that a new stadium could be part of a multi-billion-pound re-development project.

Manchester United have put back a final decision on stadium development until next summer. Delivery of a new 100,000-capacity stadium as the centrepiece of a huge regeneration project would be boosted if United could secure additional land around their existing Old Trafford home.

The Task Force is reportedly focused on the possibility of building a new 100,000-capacity stadium. A final decision on the stadium's future is expected to be made in the first half of 2025, according to reports.

A survey has found 52 per cent out of more than 50,000 season ticket holders, members and executive club members prefer the idea of a new build.
