Pontiac Notre Dame Prep football coach Pat Fox is a graduate and former Frankenmuth football player. On Saturday, he shared an emotional message after he captured his first state championship as a head coach an against his former school.

The Fighting Irish dominated Fox’s alma mater, Frankenmuth, winning Saturday afternoon’s Division 5 final 42-7 for the program’s first-ever state championship. And for the 12th and final time this season, the Irish celebrated by dancing to “Stacy’s Mom” and with a Fox dive from a bench into a sea of his players, but none sweeter than this one.

Pontiac Notre Dame Prep are Division 5 state champions after dealing a crushing blow to yet-undefeated Frankenmuth at Ford Field. The Fighting Irish defeated the Eagles 42-7, setting the tone early with a fumble recovery that set up an 87-yard touchdown pass from Sam Stowe to Billy Collins.

Frankenmuth lost to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, 42-7, in the Division 5 state championship game. Notre Dame Prep is coached by Pat Fox, a Frankenmuth alum, who led the Fighting Irish to the football program's first-ever state championship victory.

Pat Fox is going to do everything in his power to beat Frankenmuth and lead Pontiac Notre Dame Prep to its first football state championship. And, if it happens, some of the credit will go to Frankenmuth.

A four-touchdown effort from junior quarterback Samuel Stowe lifted the Fighting Irish to the win on Saturday.
