Ford just unveiled the 2025 Ford Ranger PHEV at IAA TRANSPORTATION. The plug-in midsize is set to transform the European fleet truck landscape, and could potentially have the same effects on the North American market.

Exactly one year ago, Ford unveiled the electrified Ranger plug-in hybrid (PHEV). While the Blue Oval didn't release the output figures, Ford did mention that the Ranger PHEV is capable of having a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg. Moreover, the automaker claims the pickup truck can travel up to 45 km without using a drop of fuel.

That PHEV powertrain will result in outputs of 275hp and 689Nm of torque. Not bad. In fact, that actually makes this the torquiest Ranger of all—the gasoline V6 Raptor gets 490Nm, while the twin-turbo 3.0-liter diesel V6 in the standard Ranger makes 600Nm.

Revealed at the 2024 IAA Transportation Show in Hanover, Germany, the PHEV powertrain will be available for Wildtrak, Sport and XLT variants within the Ranger line-up – as well as an all-new exclusively-styled Stormtrak launch edition.
