Reddit users reported having problems with the site two days in a row. Reddit said it had fixed a problem with its website on Thursday, after users reported having issues accessing the community-focused message board site for the second time in two days.

Reddit said on Wednesday it has rolled out a fix for a software bug that prevented tens of thousands of people from accessing the social media platform in the U.S.

All told, Reddit was down for around four hours in total this afternoon before finally recovering. According to Reddit's own incident tracker, the company implemented a fix at around 7:45 PM ET following this outage. According to a statement shared with The Verge, the website's downtime originated with a bug in a recent update.

The popular message-board service was unavailable on Thursday and on Friday morning -- the company mentioned an update bug that could be the culprit.

Reddit also had issues the day prior. It had a major outage on Wednesday and followed that up with more problems on Thursday.
