Robbie Williams had major plans to close down a London landmark for his biopic, but the Queen's death left him millions of dollars out of pocket

The death of Queen Elizabeth II almost threatened to derail his film Better Man after the producers spent a small fortune on one spectacular fantasy dance routine set on London’s Regent Street at Christmas. “That was a year and a half in the making with 500 dancers. It's the biggest dance number I've ever done,” says Michael Gracey.

Robbie William's biopic, Better Man, lost millions of pounds during filming, because of the timing of a tragic event in the Royal Family.

The monarch died in September 2023, just days before the Robbie Williams biopic – which depicts the Angels singer as a CGI monkey – was due to start filming.

Better Man, which is set for release on December 26, has been in the works with 2021 with Michael Gracey being forced to pull an elaborate scene.
