President Donald Trump said on Wednesday the U.S. will probably "live by the letter" on tariffs with Japan and may have another trade deal coming up with India, following his announcement of an accord with Indonesia on Tuesday.
“The impact of tariffs is becoming more salient,” said Ernie Tedeschi, the director of economics at the Yale University Budget Lab, which has been closely watching Trump’s tariffs. “Apparel, which had seen cool inflation the last 2 months, grew 0.4% in June. Household furnishings grew 1%. Video & audio electronics grew 1.1%.”
