October Prime Day is a members-only sale event run by Amazon in which the online retailer has thousands of sales on its site that are exclusively available to those with an active Prime members. October Prime Day will last two full days.

Beginning in October and continuing for the 48 hours, Amazon Prime customers in the U.S. and 17 other countries will be eligible for discounts. Here's what to expect for this fall's Prime Day. Amazon's next Prime Day begins at 12:01 p.m. PT on Oct. 8 and continues for the 48 hours.

An Amazon Prime membership is $14.99 per month or $139 per year if you choose to pay annually (the monthly rate for that is about $11.50). But right now, Amazon is offering a special Prime deal: You can get three months of Prime for just $7.49.
