COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio High School Softball Coaches Association released the latest coaches poll for the 2025 season on Monday, May 12. Five local teams are ranked in the top 10 in their respective divisions. Defending state champion Austintown Fitch remains the top-ranked team in Division I.

Arkansas was ranked second and LSU was fourth for their series at Alex Box Stadium. The Tigers won 5-4 in 10 innings of a series opener that did not end until Saturday at 1:17 a.m., and won 13-3 in 7 innings Saturday night. The Razorbacks won the series finale 7-4 on Sunday.

The ranking of the best coaches in the Big Ten starts with an obvious choice at No.1 but there's plenty of difficult decisions to make on the list.

Oregon moved up in three of the major polls after two wins over St. Mary’s and sweeping Washington. The Ducks (38-13, 19-8 Big Ten) are ranked No. 3 by Perfect Game, No. 5 by d1baseball.com, No. 7 in the coaches poll and NCBWA and No. 9 by Baseball America after they beat the Gaels twice and Huskies three times.

Darien tightened its grip on the No. 1 spot in the Connecticut Girls Lacrosse Coaches Top 10 Poll after defeating New Canaan 9-2 in a rematch of last year’s CIAC Class LL final.

We are full week into May, and a brand new high school softball coaches poll has been released. Several coaches from across the state shared their thoughts on this week’s poll. Each team is placed in order of rankings,
