Currently, you don’t need a Samsung account to use Galaxy phones. You can even get apps and updates from the Galaxy Store without having to log in. However, that’s about to change, as the company will force you to create a Samsung account for Galaxy Store downloads.

The Galaxy Store is a Google Play Store alternative, or even companion, for Samsung Galaxy devices, but soon using it will require you to make a Samsung account.

Now Samsung has confirmed another huge update, giving users until September 25, which is just 14 days from now, to make a key change to maintain access to its own Galaxy Store. And while most apps will be sourced from Play Store, Samsung’s own services and apps link to its own store.
