Kia has taken the wraps off the powerful EV9 GT at the ongoing Los Angeles Auto Show 2024. The EV9 GT will sit at the top of the EV9 line-up globally. Compared to the standard EV9, the GT gets a more powerful dual-motor setup and styling and mechanical updates.

Then there’s the EV9 GT’s party piece. Like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, it gets a virtual gear shift mode, designed to replicate the sensation of driving a petrol car with paddle shifters. You don’t get any fake engine noise pumped into the cabin like the Hyundai, but the system could add an extra layer of fun to the big SUV.

Kia announced the first details of its much-anticipated EV9 GT model at this year's Los Angeles motor show. Alongside the seven-seater, the swoopy EV6 GT has also been treated to a host of performance and design upgrades.

The large, three-row Kia EV9 GT can rocket to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds thanks to a 374kW dual-motor powertrain, while it also receives electronically controlled suspension.
