Not to be outdone by Huawei, Samsung is reportedly making an absurdly large smartphone with a new form factor. According to a scoop by the Korean outlet The Elec (via Sammobile), Samsung is developing a smartphone with a rollable screen with the intent of launching in 2025.

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a rollable smartphone sometime in 2025. This comes as a response to Samsung losing the race for the first “tri-fold” smartphone to Huawei, as the Chinese company launched the Mate XT earlier this month with an impressive form factor and a huge display.

The report says Samsung will launch its rollable phone with a comically large 12.4-inch display. That would be much larger than Huawei's Mate XT Ultimate Design, which features a 10.2-inch tri-fold display. Sure, 10.2 inches is enormous, but you could have a phone with a screen about one foot in size.
