Meta Connect 2024 is approaching – it kicks off on September 25 – and it looks all but certain that it’ll be the launch event for the new Meta Quest 3S. We knew almost everything about the headset already, and now a leaked ad might have confirmed the final detail: how much it’ll cost.

A new leak indicates that a new Meta Quest virtual reality headset is about to release, and at a considerably lower price than the Meta Quest 3.

According to a post on Reddit, an early showing of an Amazon ad on Peacock has revealed the price of the upcoming Meta Quest 3S as $299 for the 128GB model, which not only matches that of the 64GB Meta Quest 2 at launch but does so while doubling the available storage to 128GB.

We see a controller that looks to be the same Touch Plus controller that is available with the Quest 3. It has been suggested that Meta might not ship the headset with the controllers to get to a lower price at retail, but based on this leak, it may come with the Touch Plus controller.

Meta’s clearly tired of the Quest 2 being its budget-tier headset, and the tech needs to fall more in line with the 3 for a consistent experience across the board. And in that vein, the Meta Quest 3S (with a $300 to $400 price range) has been pretty heavily leaked ahead of a Connect announcement.
