Both the Mississippi State and Ole Miss baseball teams have advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals. The Bulldogs defeated Louisiana 19-5 during the Starkville regional on May 31, 2026. The will advance to next weekend’s Athens Super Regional against Georgia.

After a 12-2 victory over Louisiana to start the NCAA Baseball Tournament, the Cincinnati Bearcats moved on to play the No. 14-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs

Georgia beat Mississippi State 10-9, 3-1 and 8-5 in early April to sweep a top 5 SEC road series for the first time since 1990. The Bulldogs used a three-run home run by senior Michael O’Shaughnessy in extra innings to win the final game of that series, marking the first time the Bulldogs had swept a series in Starkville since 2004.

Bauer is named after the main character of the TV show "24," played by actor Kiefer Sutherland. It's also why he chose jersey No. 24. Bauer said in the preseason that he has not watched the show, however. Bauer has a 4-0 record with a 5.70 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 23⅔ innings.

It took 11 innings but the Alabama baseball program won its first NCAA Tournament regional since 2023 by defeating Oklahoma State 9-7. Alabama appeared to be well on the way to victory, taking a 5-3 lead into the sixth inning without dipping into the bullpen.

For the first time since 2006, Alabama baseball will host a Super Regional in Tuscaloosa. It took extra innings, but the Crimson Tide beat Oklahoma State 9-7, off the strength of a three-RBI Brady Neal home run in the 11th.
