Large amounts of assistance have started to arrive in Catanduanes, in the aftermath of Saturday’s Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) that devastated the province. Along with a presidential aid of P50 million and food and material assistance from government agencies led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),

Marcos turned over P50 million in assistance to the provincial government and assured residents that Malacañang is exhausting all means to provide their needs. Upon arrival, Marcos, accompanied by Gov. Joseph Cua, conducted an aerial inspection of the areas hit by the typhoon.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday led the distribution of more than PHP50 million worth of government assistance to communities in Catanduanes after the onslaught of Super Typhoon Pepito (international name Man-yi).

The US government’s aid arm has extended over $8-million (more than P471-million) assistance so far this year to Philippine communities badly hit by a string of strong typhoons that battered the country.
