During Arsenal’s brilliant first half performance against West Ham United, Julen Lopetegui was watching from the stands, not able to be on the touchline. Unlike Mikel Arteta, who was orchestrating his Arsenal team beside the pitch, Lopetegui was serving a touchline ban – he was as distant as some of his West Ham players from the action early on.

West Ham United suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Arsenal, in an incredibly chaotic game at the London Stadium that finished 5-2. It was Gabriel who gave Mikel Arteta’s side the lead, with a corner paying off for Arsenal once again, as the Brazilian defender fired his header past Lukasz Fabianski.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League, even if that might be a difficult prospect given how Liverpool have shot off in front. On their part, even though they’re in something of a transition season under Julen Lopetegui, West Ham will want to be competing for European football.
