In Maharashtra, number of MLAs facing pending criminal cases increases; Jharkhand elects its highest number of women

Macquarie Capital in a note on Monday said the result of this fiscal policy is that Maharashtra's fiscal deficit will exceed targets set for the state at 3%, and that the state will have to cut capex to meet the targets.

The BJP secured a resounding victory in Maharashtra, while the JMM-led alliance triumphed in Jharkhand. Key figures like Modi, Shah, Shinde, and Fadnavis emerged as winners, while Thackeray, Pawar, and the Congress faced setbacks.

Of the 112 districts covered under the ADP across the country, 19 are in Jharkhand (largest number for a state), while Maharashtra has only four. In Jharkhand, 66 Assembly constituencies fall in the Aspirational Districts.
