As multiple deadly wildfires continue to burn across the Los Angeles area, firefighters are getting some extra help from fire departments across the country and neighboring countries.

Mexico has sent 72 firefighters to Los Angeles on Saturday to help battle the devastating wildfires across the region. Disaster relief workers from the National Forestry Commission and the Ministry of Defense in Mexico also arrived to assist local emergency workers.

The deployments come days before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, who has threatened the United States’ largest trade partners with tariffs.

As crews continue to battle the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Saturday the arrival of 72 firefighters and disaster relief workers from Mexico. Crews from Mexico's National Forestry Commission and Ministry of Defense are joining the ongoing firefighting efforts.

LOS ANGELES — A team of firefighters from Mexico arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday, joining the personnel of more than 14,000 already battling the Palisades and Eaton fires in the Los Angeles area.

Mexican firefighters have arrived in U.S. to help battle wildfires which have devastated large areas of California. Two aircraft carrying the crews, as well as humanitarian aid, landed in Los Angeles on Saturday where they were greeted by California Governor Gavin Newsom.
