The Gophers football team put up a valiant effort and had a chance to win the game in the final minutes, but ultimately it couldn't pull off the upset, falling 26-25 to No. 4 Penn State Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The Minnesota Gophers thwarted that opportunity when they dropped their week 12 matchup against Rutgers, two Saturdays ago. Still, the Penn State Nittany Lions came to Dinkytown as the #4 ranked team in the nation,

The penalty helped the Nittany Lions move the ball into Minnesota's territory and ultimately scored via an Allar four-yard touchdown run. However, the Gophers came through with another block, this time on the extra point, and returned it all the way back for two points to give them a 19-16 lead before the half.
