For the second time in a week, the International Space Station has had to adjust its orbit in order to steer clear of a piece of approaching space junk.

A Russian Progress freighter docked to the ISS fired its thrusters Monday (Nov. 25) to dodge a piece of debris, the second such evasive maneuver for the orbiting lab in less than a week.

A Russian cargo ship docked at the space station fired its thrusters for five minutes Tuesday to move the ISS out of the way of an inbound object.

There was brief cause for concern at the ISS recently when crew there reported an unexpected odor coming from Russia's recently docked Progress spacecraft.
