U.S. stock futures are trading mixed early Thursday as traders await another key inflation figure, the Producer Price Index, today. Global markets

U.S. stocks finished mixed on Tuesday as a sell-off in tech stocks weighed on the broader market. The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) fell 37.78 points, or 0.6%, to 6,411.37, while the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) tumbled 314.82 points, or 1.5%, to 21,314.95.

After the opening bell, the Dow rose 0.5%, as the S&P 500 gained 0.4%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite climbed 0.5% in morning trade. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq closed at record highs on Tuesday as rate-cut odds bolted higher following July inflation data.

In a day where semiconductor companies are down, Analog Devices ( ADI) (+3.5%) is in the unique position of being up. In fact, it's the top stock in the Nasdaq 100 right now (and the #2 stock in the S&P 500). The company's quarterly earnings report is to credit for the modest pop, with strong results and higher guidance buoying the stock today.

What Happened? Shares of recreational products manufacturer American Outdoor Brands (NASDAQ:AOUT) jumped 6.6% in the afternoon session after the stock rallied along with the broader market as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's comments opened the door to potential interest rate cuts.

The Dow Jones index closed slightly in positive territory. Nvidia, Palantir both sank Tuesday. A manufacturing services name sold off.
