Magnitude 4.2 earthquake strikes near Watsonville in California
AROMAS, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck early Sunday morning near Watsonville, California, in the Bay Area. The U.S. Geological Survey says the rumble occurred shortly after 2:45 a.m. It was centered just under two miles northwest of Aromas — about two hours south of Stockton — in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties.
