A new wildfire was reported today at 3:19 p.m. in San Diego County. Pentecost Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, there are no details on the containment or cause of the fire.

In fact, the National Weather Service recorded a powerful storm that passed through the region on Thanksgiving Day in 2019. The storm brought wind gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour as well as heavy rainfall that led to flooding and erosion along the coast and valleys in San Diego County, according to the NWS.

Wildfire risk is a constant threat to San Diego County and residents know all too well the feeling of seeing a plume of smoke rising above the skyline.
