Sarah Boone was in court Thursday with her ninth lawyer. She is accused of zipping her boyfriend into a suitcase and then leaving him to suffocate while she stood over him, laughing as he begged her to let him out.

Despite statements to investigators saying that Jorge Torres Jr.'s death was an accident, Sarah Boone is now claiming self-defense.

In a hearing on Thursday, Sarah Boone's attorney, James Owens, argued that he should be allowed to use battered spouse syndrome as a defense for his client, who his accused of zipping her boyfriend in a suitcase and leaving him to die.
