The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is actively investigating after agents discovered a bald eagle with an injury from gunfire. TWRA agents Nathan Karch and Jason Shapton responded to a report involving an injured young bald eagle in Sumner County on Thursday,

The eagle is expected to survive, however the TWRA said in a social media post that it would never be able to return to the wild.

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A juvenile bald eagle in Middle Tennessee was recued after being shot. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) says officers responded in Sumner County to find the injured animal.
