The Phoenix Suns provided an injury update about their duo ahead of Saturday's matchup with the Washington Wizards.
The Phoenix Suns have four bigs on the roster, including newly acquired 7-footer Nick Richards. Nurkic was moved to the bench earlier this month.
Of course, the Suns were expected to be one of the top teams in the West this season due to their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Instead, they have struggled, which has already made them make some moves to upgrade their roster.
The struggling Nurkic has gone from the starting center to a benchwarmer in the space of about a month. Coach Mike Budenholzer doesn’t seem like he’s going to reverse that decision any time soon — especially with the Suns winning eight of their last 11 games and the emergence of newcomer Nick Richards .
BOTTOM LINE: Toronto will try to keep its four-game win streak alive when the Raptors take on Washington. The Wizards are 5-19 in Eastern Conference games. Washington is 3-11 when it turns the ball over less than its opponents and averages 15.2 turnovers per game.
