Gov. Wes Moore (D), who stumped across the country for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot in 2024, raised almost $4 million for his state campaign account over the past year — often when he was on out-of-town trips.

Maryland’s freshman senator was in the spotlight Thursday as she had a chance to question some of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees.

The survey covered multiple topics including what voters thought of Wes Moore’s job performance and whether they’re for or against paying more taxes to help fill the state’s nearly $3 billion budget hole.

He’s staring down a multi-billion-dollar budget deficit, has an ambitious public education plan to pay for and does not yet know what a second Donald Trump presidency will mean for the state.

When it comes to an income tax increase, 67% of those who “strongly approve” of Moore’s job performance oppose an income tax increase. Sixty-two percent of those who strongly approved of Moore’s performance opposed a sales tax increase. And 71% of those who “strongly approve” of Moore’s performance oppose a property tax increase.
