Fulham are investigating whether anyone associated with the club has been a victim of its former owner Mohamed Al Fayed, who has been accused of raping and sexually abusing young women.

Al-Fayed purchased Fulham in 1997, after their promotion to the old Division Two (now League One). He immediately announced his ambition to take the club to the Premier League within five years. Fulham were promoted to the lucrative top flight in 2001 and remained there until 2014.

Lawyers representing dozens of women who say they were raped and sexually abused by Mohamed Al Fayed, the former boss of the famous London department store Harrods, said the case was akin to the crimes of sex offenders Jimmy Savile,

Harrods was accused of a “systematic failure of corporate responsibility” by a lawyer representing alleged victims of Mohamed Al Fayed, following a slew of claims of sexual assault against the late former owner of the London luxury department store,

Attorneys for 37 women said they would sue Harrods, the luxury department store, over the rape and sexual assault they say its former owner committed.

The legal team representing the alleged victims of the former owner of Harrods, Mohamed Al Fayed, say the case against the late billionaire was a “monster” whose crimes were “enabled” by the high-end department store.

The department store owners say they're appalled by the abuse allegations and "the Harrods of today is a very different organisation".
