Local police said Payne was declared dead on the spot after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.

Hundreds have gathered in London’s Kensington Gardens to mourn Liam Payne as fans around the world grieved for the One Direction singer who died this week.

A hotel guest known as Rebecca said she had an interaction with Payne at the hotel before his death. According to The Mirror US, Rebecca said Payne appeared “desperate” for others to recognize him. He allegedly introduced himself to other guests waiting for an elevator by announcing, “I’m Liam.”
