Spain is reeling from its worst flooding in decades, after a year’s worth of rain fell in just hours this week in the country’s southern and eastern regions.

A crowd of angry protesters hurled mud and rocks at King Felipe VI during his first visit to flood-ravaged areas in Paiporta, Spain, on Nov. 3.

An angry crowd threw eggs, insults and mud at Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia during their visit to Valencia, where more than 200 people have died in devastating floods. Queen Letizia was also seen crying meeting those affected by the devastation.

The barrage included a few rocks and other objects and two bodyguards were treated for injuries, reported Spain's national broadcaster.

While visiting the flood-stricken town of Paiporta, Spain's King Felipe was confronted by local residents protesting the government's response to the disaster.
