Optimising its network, Air India on Wednesday said it will deploy erstwhile Vistara's A320 planes that offer best narrow body cabin products on five key metro-to-metro routes, including Delhi-Mumbai and Mumbai-Hyderabad.

The merger significantly bolsters the Air India Group’s fleet, bringing it to 298 aircraft serving 55 domestic and 48 international destinations across 312 routes.

Such flights will operate with 'AI'-prefixed four-digit flight numbers beginning with '2', such as AI2999 from Delhi to Mumbai.
