'Bluey' animated movie from Disney to hit theaters in 2027
The first-ever "Bluey" feature film is in the works. BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company announced Tuesday that the beloved animated series is getting the movie treatment and is set to hit theaters in 2027 before streaming on Disney+. Joe Brumm, who created "Bluey," is writing and directing the film.

The film will be made by Ludo, the Australian studio that makes the “Bluey” television show, and financed by BBC Studios, which holds global distribution and merchandising rights to the character. Disney, which licenses the series for Disney+ and cable networks, will release the movie in theaters in 2027.

If the Bluey movie follows suit, fans can expect to see it on Disney+ sometime in late 2027 or early 2028. In the meantime, Disney+ already has a deep catalog of Bluey episodes ready to stream, including fan favorites and the latest season drops. And with a feature-length movie on the way, the streamer isn’t likely let up on Bluey content.
