As President Trump's EPA prepares to roll back some of the safeguards against so-called "forever chemicals," some Americans may be wondering what they can do to protect their drinking water.

The Environmental Protection Agency says it will roll back limits on several types of what are known as forever chemicals in drinking water.

In the case of the other two compounds, Olson says the EPA can’t legally extend the deadline for utilities to comply. The Safe Drinking Water Act allows for a maximum of five years for utilities to meet new requirements, and that’s already in place.
