Viktor Orban has vowed to defy the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu – saying that the Israeli leader is invited to Hungary. On Thursday, the court accused Mr Netanyahu and his former defence minister Yoav Gallant of crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza.

Hungary, unlike the United States, is a signatory to the court, which accused the Israeli leader of war crimes in Gaza. Responses to the warrant from other European countries were varied.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Friday said he would not comply with an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Orbán invited Netanyahu to visit Hungary and said Budapest would "deny the arrest warrant if he accepts the invitation.
