Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP each secure 4 wins in Mumbai City district, while BJP led in Mumbai Suburban with the highest number of seats.

Much like its performance across major regions in Maharashtra, the Mahayuti did well in the Mumbai and suburban regions as well, leading in 26 seats. The MVA could only manage the lead in 11 seats.

In the 2019 assembly elections, the Shiv Sena (undivided at the time) and BJP secured a majority of the seats in Mumbai. With the subsequent split, the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction now competes against the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, backed by the BJP.

The ruling NDA alliance of BJP, Sena (Shinde camp) and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) has put up its best-ever performance in Maharashtra winning 235 of the 288 assembly seats and restricting the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance to a score of 49 seats.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ganesh Naik of BJP won in this seat defeating Ganesh Raghu Shinde of NCP by a margin of 78,365 which was 39.90% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 58.

The Mahayuti alliance led by Mr Modi’s BJP is on course to win 221 of the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, home to India’s financial and entertainment capital Mumbai. The BJP alone is set to take more than 100 seats.
