Nvidia is launching its next-gen RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPUs today, but it’s also releasing an exciting update for existing RTX GPU owners. A new GPU driver (572.16) allows you to force DLSS 4 inside games or apps that don’t currently support it, providing improved image quality and even less VRAM usage in some cases.

Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are real, and well, they’re not as spectacular as many gamers hoped at first glance – at least when you aren’t using DLSS 4. I’m worried about what that means for the $550 RTX 5070 PC that gamers seemed so jazzed about,

Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card is exceptionally powerful but forbiddingly expensive. (You could build a complete RTX 5080-based gaming PC for the money.) But this top-tier GPU lives on a whole other planet of performance.
