The Red Sox’ equipment truck is en route to southwest Florida after leaving Boston on Monday and players are beginning to trickle into the Fenway South complex in Fort Myers. By the middle of next week, spring training will be fully underway with Alex Cora returning to lead the Red Sox for his seventh (non-consecutive) season.

Seven teams share spring training facilities, so a total of 23 ballparks host spring training games each year. George M. Steinbrenner Field, the Yankees' spring training stadium, will also host the Tampa Bay Rays during the regular season this year, after their ballpark in St. Petersburg was damaged by Hurricane Milton.

Two semitrailers were filled with more than 26 pallets of gear as the Pittsburgh Pirates prepare to head to Bradenton, Florida, for spring training.
